West Group awarded funding for its SwarfPak Technology by the Research Council of Norway
West Production Technology receives DEMO 2000 support to perform a field pilot of the SwarfPak Milling Technology
The SwarfPak Technology is a step change milling technology for P & A and Slot Recovery applications. The project has earlier received funding from Innovation Norway. The SwarfPak Technology will be demonstrated through the construction and field trial of pilot tools together with JIP partners Statoil and ConocoPhillips. The pilot project will be executed during 2013.
DEMO 2000 has today granted 19 new projects for qualifying and piloting of technology that will help reduce costs, improve efficiency and performance on the Norwegian shelf.
- It is very pleasent to see that the number of applications have increased since last application round, and that the quality of the applications in general is high, says the DEMO 2000 board chairman Svein Bredahl.
- This gives us hope that we over the coming years will see new major Norwegian technological winners getting establish in the market, as we have seen it through the DEMO 2000 programme since it was established in 1999.
The projects will help to make the Norwegian Continental Shelf more competitive, as well as additional security. The support from DEMO 2000 will also help to qualify advanced Norwegian technology for world markets.
